On Aug.15, 2005, Dongtai, in east China’s Jiangsu Province, was granted the title of China Cocoon and Silk Manufacturing Base by China Silk Association and then became the only region that has been granted this title in China.

According to the project, by the end of 2008, areas under mulberry will reach 150000mus, total output 20000 tons, and silk yarn 3000 tons.
