There was a clear decrease in tussah silkworm egg output with moderate quality decrease, said Liaoning Agricultural Bureau. The silkworm egg output of five silkworm parent egg farms and Liaoning Sericulture Scientific Research Institute decreased about 30 per cent compared to last year.Diseases was a major factor.
According to the statistics, the eligible rate of parent eggs is 80 pct, 15 pct lower than that of last year. Panjing’s four silkworm egg farms produced 1933000 eggs, 5.2 per cent lower than that of last year; the eligible rate of parent eggs is 63.7 per cent, 34 per cent lower than last year; the rate of detecting virus rose slightly and reached to 0.98 per cent.
The output decrease has led to the imbalance of supply and demand. The government called on the administrations at various levels to improve the leadership and strengthen the administration and price in accordance with Liaoning Silkworm Egg Administrative Measures.
