China issued National Guiding Program for Producing Silkworm Seed, Cocoon and Silk in 2007

The General Office of the Ministry of Commerce and the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture recently jointly released circular on issuing National Guiding Program for Producing Silkworm Seed, Cocoon and Silk in 2007.
According to the circular dated on March 13th, China will achieve the increase of silkworm silk production modestly in 2007. The national guiding program for producing silkworm seed, cocoon and silk in 2007 are set to be 19,750,000 boxes, 750,060 boxes and 95,000 tons, 7.58 pct, 1.3 pct and 2.03 pct respectively higher than the actual output of the previous year.
MOC and MOA request commercial and agricultural sectors at various levels to enhance analysis and information guides and rationally arrange production scale to ensure a heathy and stable development for the cocoon and silk industry.
