Import: The amount of silk filament was 9.7851 million US dollars, down by 1.55% month-on-month and 4.54% YOY, with whose quantity falling 8.42% from the previous month and 1% from the year earlier to 203.575 tons; the amount of silk fabrics was 49.6325 million US dollars, dropping 10.35% and growing 31.89% from the previous month and year respectively; The amount of silk madeups was 351 million US dollars, down by 16.69% from the previous month and up by 48.26% YOY.
Export: The amount of silk filament was 1.2553 million US dollars, a decrease of 2.71% month-on-month and an increase of 17.5% YOY, with whose quantity falling 39.01% month-on-month and 6.43% YOY to 17.049 tons; the amount of silk fabrics was 63.9576 million US dollars, growing 4.95% and 38.18% from the previous month and year respectively; The amount of silk madeups was 356 million US dollars, a month-on-month decline of 11.29% and a rise of 92.32% YOY.
2. Silk products trade from January to May
From January to May, the trade value of EU’s silk totaled 4.345 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 17.54%. Among them, the import value was 2.213 billion US dollars, up 6.1% YOY; the export value was 2.132 billion US dollars, up 32.35% YOY(the same below). Details were as follows:
The composition of imported products amounted to 51.8634 million US dollars of silk filament, falling 16.1%, with whose quantity falling 10.89% to 1120.58 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 272 million US dollars, with a rise of 9.8%; Silk madeups amounted to 1889 million US dollars, increasing 6.35%.
The major sources of imports were China (669 million US dollars, up 4.38%, accounting for 30.22%), Turkey (430 million US dollars, up 28.32%, accounting for 19.45%), Bangladesh (238 million US dollars, up 0.89% , accounting for 10.74%), India (110 million US dollars, up 17.76% , accounting for 4.99%), Vietnam (74.3766 million US dollars, up 13.29%, accounting for 3.36%). The total proportion of the 5 sources above was 68.76%.
The composition of export products amounted to 5.7492 million US dollars of silk filament, a year-on-year decrease of 10.02%, with whose quantity jumping 23.82% to 124.221 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 292 million US dollars, up 22.32% YOY; and silk madeups were 1.835 billion US dollars, an increase of 34.3% YOY.
The major export markets were China (287 million US dollars, up 262.12%, accounting for 13.46%), Switzerland (227 million US dollars, up 8.2%, accounting for 10.66%), United States (223 million US dollars, up 13.73%, accounting for 10.48%), the UK (198 million US dollars, down 15.07%, accounting for 9.28%), Hongkong (145 million US dollars, up 11.79%, accounting for 6.81%).
