1. The import and export situation of silk products in July
According to China Customs statistics, the total import and export value of silk products was 131 million US dollars of China, a year-on-year increase of 26.04%. Among them, the export value was 99 million dollars, decreasing 10.24% and increasing 23.52% from the previous month and year respectively; the import value was 31.7855 million dollars, dropping 25.76% and jumping 34.62% from the previous month and year respectively. The specific details are as follows:
Export situation: the amount of silk filament was 16.8635 million dollars, jumping 17.81% from the last year (the same below), and the quantity of which was 383.06 tons, growing 14.52%; the amount of silk fabrics was 26.4566 million dollars, going up 70.78%; the silk madeups was 56.0953 million dollars, rising 10.69%。
Import situation: the amount of silk filament was 4.4965 million dollars, soaring 81.19%, and the quantity of which was 447.07 tons, falling 11.34%; the amount of silk fabrics was 1.3102 million dollars, going down 9.3%; the silk madeups was 25.9787 million dollars, rising 31.97%。
2. The import and export situation of silk products in Jan.-Jul.
The total import and export value of silk products was 930 million dollars from January to July, up 22.38%, accounting for 0.49% of China's total textile and apparel imports and exports.
2.1 Export situation
The export value of pure silk products was 687 million US dollars from January to July, a year-on-year increase of 8.45%, accounting for 0.4% of China's textile and apparel exports. During the same period, the export value of textile and apparel increased by 8.46%.
2.1.1 Export products structure
From January to July, the exports of the three categories was mixed, in which the export growth of silk fabrics expanded significantly. Among them, silk filament was 146 million dollars, falling 10.85%, accounting for 21.23%, and the quantity of which was 3340.35 tons, dropping 3.51%, with its export unit price of 43.65 dollars per kilo, down 7.62%; silk fabrics amounted to 180 million dollars, growing 15.36%, accounting for 26.18%, and its export unit price was 5.42 dollars per meter, jumping 0.74%; the exports of silk madeups totaled 361 million dollars, going up 15.07%, accounting for 52.59%.
2.1.2 Major export markets
The exports of silk products to major markets was generally increased from last year. And the proportion and ranking were basically stable. The top five markets were: EU (up 1.45%, accounting for 26.72%), USA (up 8.77%, accounting for 19.42%), Hong Kong (up 30.30%, accounting for 9.40%), Japan (up 11.03%, accounting for 8.05%), the UK (up 57.58%, accounting for 4.65%).
1) Export situation of Silk filament
The export growth of silk filament to EU and Japan expanded. And Madagascar returned to be forth in the export markets. The top five in order were: EU (up 2.41%, accounting for 40.14%), India (down 45.86%, accounting for 14.39%), Japan (up 10.50%, accounting for 14.34%), Madagascar (down 23.81%, accounting for 4.74%), Vietnam (down 26.94%, accounting for 4.51%).
2) Export situation of Silk fabrics
Silk fabrics exported to EU continued to narrow the decline. And its export growth in Hongkong extended to nearly 60%. However, Sri Lanka fell out of top five. The top five countries or regions were: EU (down 4.79%, accounting for 23.27%), Hong Kong (up 59.56%, accounting for 15.75%), Pakistan (up 124.89%, accounting for 12.21%), India (down 15.68%, accounting for 5.89%), Korea (down 8.86%, accounting for 5.79%).
3)Export situation of silk madeups
From January to July, the exports of silk products to European and American markets increased year-on-year and also kept rapid growth to UK. The top five countries or regions were: USA (up 8.51%, accounting for 34.24%), EU (up 4.19%, accounting for 23.01%), Hong Kong (up 14.81%, accounting for 9.73%), the UK (up 60.15%, accounting for 7.59%), Japan (up 13.56%, accounting for 7.57%).
2.1.3 Export situation of provinces and municipalities
Among the major export provinces and municipalities of silk products, Shandong Province growing 37% year-on year replaced Shanghai to rank the forth place. The rankings of major provinces and municipalities were: Zhejiang (up 2.16%, accounting for 35.29%), Jiangsu (up 9.77% , accounting for 17.26%), Guangdong (down 2.98%, accounting for 10.91%), Shandong (up 37.22%, accounting for 8.17%), Shanghai (down 12.62%, accounting for 8.16%). The total exports of the top 5 provinces and municipalities accounted for 79.79% of the country's total exports.
2.2 Import situation
From January to July, the import value of pure silk products was 243 million US dollars, an increase of 92.17%, accounting for 1.51% of textile and apparel imports. In the same period, textile and apparel imports jumped 24.43% .
2.2.1 Import structure
The proportion of the three major categories of imports was basically stable, and imports of silk filament and silk madeups continued to maintain substantial growth. The import value of silk filament was 32.6496 million dollars, soaring 154.81%, accounting for 13.44%, the quantity of which amounted to 3603.93 tons, growing 44.73%, and the unit price of which jumped by 75.92% to 9.06 dollars per kilo; the imports of pure silk fabrics was 10.7605 million dollars, increasing 1.93%, accounting for 4.43%, and its unit price fell 6.70% to 12.53 dollars per meter; Imports of silk madeups increased 93.62% to 199 million dollars, accounting for 82.13%.
2.2.2 Import situation of sources
Imports from the EU have fallen back a bit and the ranking was stable. The top five import sources of pure silk products were: EU (up 100.20%, accounting for 75.59%), India (up 96.04%, accounting for 5.79%), China (up 23.48%, accounting for 5.74% ), Uzbekistan (up 325.32%, accounting for 4.56%), Vietnam (up 67.01%, accounting for 1.34%).
2.2.3 Export situation of provinces and municipalities
The major provinces and municipalities in China's silk imports maintained a substantial year-on-year growth, and their ranking remained unchanged from the previous month. The details were as follows: Shanghai (up 93.17%, accounting for 76.37%), Zhejiang (up 205.27%, accounting for 8.47%), Guangdong (up 35.98%, accounting for 4.28%), Beijing (up 12.95%, accounting for 2%), Anhui (up 200.24%, accounting for 1.89%). The top five provinces and municipalities accounted for 93.01% of the country's total imports.
