1.Silk products trade in June

According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, the trade value of silk products in June was 310 million US dollars, growing 15.85% from the previous month and falling 5.72% from the same period last year. Among them, the import value was 50.92 million US dollars, jumping 26.89% month-on-month and falling 16% year-on-year; the export value was 259 million US dollars, growing 13.9% on a monthly basis and falling 3.39% from the year earlier. The specific product composition was as follows:
Import: The amount of silk filament was 17.47 million US dollars, growing 16.39% month-on-month and dropping 35.63% YOY, with its quantity growing 9.32% from the previous month and dropping 39.84% from the year earlier to 316.63 tons; the amount of silk fabrics was 11.58 million US dollars, decreasing 11.6% and 37.3% from the previous month and year respectively; silk madeups amounted to 21.87 million US dollars, growing 81.95% from the previous month and 45.7% YOY.
Export: The amount of silk filament was 2.51 million US dollars, decreasing 3.46% month-on-month and increasing 16.2% YOY, with its quantity falling 16.36% month-on-month and growing 8.74% YOY to 198.05 tons; the amount of silk fabrics was 16.26 million US dollars, jumping 5.04% and dropping 31.04% from the previous month and year respectively; silk madeups amounted to 240 million US dollars, increasing 14.77% month-on-month and decreasing 0.87% YOY.
2.Silk products trade from January to June
From January to June, the India's silk trade value totaled 1862 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 3.16%. Among them, the import value was 251 million US dollars, down 12.39% YOY; the export value was 1611 million US dollars, down by 1.55% YOY(the same below). Details were as follows:
Among the imported products, silk filament amounted to 84.9 million US dollars, dropping 22.93%, with its quantity falling 20.44% to 1581.72 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 72.1 million US dollars, with a drop of 28.44%; Silk madeups amounted to 94.27 million US dollars, up 24.2% .
The major sources of imports were China (102 million US dollars, down 28.84%, accounting for 40.61%), Vietnam (59.55 million US dollars, up 3.05%, accounting for 23.7%), Bangladesh (35.51 million US dollars, up 88.28%, accounting for 14.13%), Sri Lanka (10.05 million US dollars, down 30.21%, accounting for 4%), U.A.E (8.76 million US dollars, up 31.33%, accounting for 3.49%). The total proportion of the 5 sources above was 85.93%.
Among the export products, silk filament amounted to 15.15 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 45.39%, with the quantity jumping 13.8% to 1266.14 tons; silk fabrics amounted to 95.68 million US dollars, down 25.51% YOY; silk madeups amounted to 1500 million US dollars, an increase of 0.18% YOY.
The major export markets were the US (694 million US dollars, up 1.93%, accounting for 43.1%), U.A.E (115 million US dollars, down 2.51%, accounting for 7.15%), the UK (98.97 million US dollars, up 9.43%, accounting for 6.14%), Germany (65.42 million US dollars, down 13.32%, accounting for 4.06%), Spain (59.95 million US dollars, down 0.65%, accounting for 3.72%).
