According to China Customs statistics, the export value of China's silk fabrics in 2023 was about 386 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 16.65% from the previous year; the export quantity was 59.33 million meters, a year-on-year decrease of 13.75%; and the average unit price was 6.51 U.S. dollars per meter, down 1.52% year-on-year.
According to the ranking of export value, the top five major silk export markets ranked stable, among which the European Union, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong, China fell significantly, down 27.6%, 21.83% and 21.87% year-on-year respectively.The top five markets in terms of export value were: the European Union (down 27.6% year-on-year, accounting for 23.9%), Pakistan (down 12.26% year-on-year, accounting for 12.41%), India (down 5.02% year-on-year, accounting for 9.83%), Sri Lanka (down 21.83% year-on-year, accounting for 7.14%), and Hong Kong, China (down 21.87% year-on-year, accounting for 6.18%).
